“Classical & Modern” was my first album i started to work on back in 2011. The first ideas of it emerged in the very beginning of that year, when the intro of “The Deep” appeared on my first full length ep, “For My Mum”. later that year, more parts of that track were finished, which were released on the eps “For My Dad” and “Christmas Special“ with other pieces like “Friday (I should be happy)”, “Overture“ and “A sad, cold afternoon in november”, which later were supposed to be part of other tracks, namely “Classical 1” and “I Hate It When It Comes”. Plans for the whole album were completed at the end of that year, but no more music was written for this project.

After 6 years i found these plans with all the names of those never finished tracks. I did my best to finish the work my 17-year-old self started. I really think he would be happy with the outcome.

The original plan for the album was to have two sides: the first one would have consisted of classical, mostly orchestral pieces, and the second one would be full of modern, mostly drum or guitar driven, even experimental music. In the finised work the first half is more or less orchestral, and i decided to have rather similar tracks for the second half, keeping in mind that my 17-year-old self could not have written those electronic pieces which later appeared on “begin the third”.

Because of these, most of the music of track 2 was written in 2011 with the three other songs mentioned before. Apart from those, all the other segments were written in 2017, with the exception of the first parts of “siena duomo” which were written in 2016. Despite how hard i tried, i guess the difference of these six years cannot be unheard. This way the title of the album could also reflect on the differences between the genres of certain parts.

This album is dedicated to everyone who helped me during these periods.

Classical 1 is only split because of technical reasons. The Titles of the segments are listed at the page of the corresponding track.
